- ages every thousand years or so
- two or three forms; human, animal, sometimes in between
- hundreds of thousands of different types of demons
- some very weak demons, few stronger, intelligent demons
- strongest of the races
- most are evil, very few good demons
- aka "youkai"

Hanyou
- half demon, half human
- lifespan is roughly 1,000 years
- age every decade or so
- one or two forms; humanoid (animal traits), sometimes animal
- weaker than demons, strong than humans
- less than a hundred in the land
